Common use

Finax tablet is primarily used to treat male pattern hair loss (androgenetic alopecia). By blocking the conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT), it helps increase hair growth and prevents further hair loss in men. Specifically, it is most effective in the vertex and midscalp areas of the scalp. In addition to its use in hair restoration, Finax tablet is also prescribed at higher doses to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), a condition commonly known as an enlarged prostate. This treatment helps alleviate symptoms of BPH, such as frequent or difficult urination.

Dosage and direction

Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the tablet. Regular and continuous use is necessary to maintain hair growth. Consult your doctor before changing the way you take this medicine.

Precautions

Caution is advised in older adults and patients with prostate cancer, depression and in patients with liver impairment.

Contraindications

Finax is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity or allergic to finasteride. It is also contraindicated in pregnant women, breastfeeding women, children and women with childbearing potential.

Possible side effect

Finax tablet can potentially have the following side effects: Decreased libido: This means you might experience a reduced interest in sexual activity; Erectile dysfunction: It refers to the inability to get or maintain an erection firm enough for sexual intercourse; Ejaculation disorder, predominantly decreased volume of ejaculate: This simply means you might notice a reduction in the amount of semen released during ejaculation; Gynaecomastia: This indicates enlargement of breast tissue in men, which can sometimes be associated with tenderness.

Drug interaction

It's necessary to inform your doctor about any preexisting conditions or ongoing medications before starting this medicine.

Missed dose

In case you've missed a dose of Finax, take it as soon as you remember. However, if the time for your next dose is near, skip the missed one and continue with your regular dosage schedule. Never decide to increase your dosage without consulting your doctor.

Overdose

Overdosing on Finax may result in an increase in the usual side effects. If you suspect an overdose, it is recommended to inform your doctor right away. Do not panic, stay calm, and follow your doctor’s guidance.

Storage

Keep your Finax stored at room temperature, ideally between 15°C to 30°C. Protect it from light and moisture. Avoid storing in bathrooms or damp places. Ensure the product is kept out of reach of children and pets. Always use the tablet before its expiration date.
